III. AI Controversies Marketers and Brands Should Avoid
This article takes a quick look at the pros and cons of using artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing. And while AI can automate repetitive tasks and analyze large sets of data, it cannot replace human connection In addition, its predictions and analyses can sometimes be wrong. AI requires huge sets of data and human intervention, and also lacks human creativity. Keep these limitations in mind and don’t over-rely on AI when communicating and connecting with your consumers.
II. DuckDuckGo debuts AI-based search using OpenAI and Anthropic language models
DuckDuckGo has launched an AI-powered instant answer service called DuckAssist, which uses generative AI from OpenAI and Anthropic to generate answers to certain types of questions without tracking user queries. The system uses the Davinci AI large language model from OpenAI and the Claude model from Anthropic, and sources information from Wikipedia and other reputable online encyclopedias to minimize "hallucination," where generative AI makes up an answer to a question out of incomplete or incorrect information. DuckAssist is being phased in across the search engine and is the first of a series of generative AI-assisted features the company plans to roll out in the coming months.
Wand Technologies has received seed financing from O'Shaughnessy Ventures to develop an AI-powered creative tool that emphasizes visual illustration and personalization to aid artists in the ideation and exploration phase of their creative process. The tool allows artists to create custom, fine-tuned AI that understands their style, and collaborate on training custom models for their projects.
